Senior Building Physicist | AESG

Surabhi Saran

Surabhi is a senior Building Physicist at AESG, with over eight years of experience in sustainable buildings and climate adaptation consulting across the Middle East, India & the UK. Specializing in microclimate studies, energy efficiency, and climate risk mitigation, she brings a unique systems-thinking approach to designing resilient, high-performance built environments.

Her work spans both the external and internal performance of building envelopes, with a strong focus on optimizing thermal comfort, solar control, and energy performance. Through detailed building thermal envelope modelling, Surabhi develops façade strategies that respond intelligently to local climatic conditions, balancing passive design measures with occupant wellbeing.

An expert in simulation-based design, she has extensive experience with tools such as IES-VE, Honeybee for daylight and energy modelling, and CFD and microclimate simulations, enabling her to assess complex interactions between buildings and their surrounding environment. From analyzing U-values, solar radiation, and wind patterns to addressing urban heat island effects and climate vulnerability, she supports masterplans and developments in achieving their sustainability and resilience goals.

Surabhi holds a degree in Environmental Architecture and is passionate about driving innovation through research, knowledge-sharing, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. She remains committed to advancing sustainable design principles that enable long-term climate adaptation and carbon reduction in the built environment.
