Raimondi Cranes have appointed Wael Hasan as General Manager, Raimondi Middle East.

Based in Dubai, UAE, Hasan will report directly to Raimondi Group CEO, Luigi Maggioni and aims to fortify Raimondi’s presence in the GCC region by enhancing its operational structure, and caters to the boost in demand for the company’s tower cranes in the MENA region.

“Having served as Raimondi’s Commercial Director of the Middle Eastern subsidiary for the past seven years, Wael Hasan brings a wealth of regional experience and expertise to the role. With his exceptional leadership skills and hands-on team guidance, a keen understanding of market dynamics, and strong relationships, Wael has played a pivotal role in developing one of Raimondi’s key markets,” said Luigi Maggioni, CEO, Raimondi Cranes Group.

Under Hasan’s regional management, Raimondi Middle East has significantly expanded its client base, cultivated a robust network of partners in GCC countries, while significantly increasing the on-ground brand presence, specifically in key booming construction markets including UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, said the firm in a statement.

His strategic approach has resulted in Raimondi participating in some of the region’s most relevant and prestigious projects: The Seef, one of Qatar’s most awaited residential developments, Deira Mall, one of the largest shopping centres in Dubai, and East Village, a district of Aljada megacity in Sharjah.

Over the past 36 months Raimondi Middle East has crossed the impressive milestone of deploying over 200 cranes regionally.

“As general manager, Wael will spearhead Raimondi’s effort to further strengthen its foothold in the GCC market, capitalizing on emerging opportunities and addressing evolving customer needs.

“This role positions him as a catalyst for Raimondi’s expansion strategy in the Middle East, specifically in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and will build on the company’s strong standing in UAE,” Maggioni continued, adding that the company’s Saudi expansion plan will be shared in the coming months.

“I am thrilled to support the Group vision by leading Raimondi Middle East into this next phase. I’m committed to leveraging our strengths, particularly the full-circle customer service and technical support functions, to capitalise on opportunities and deliver unparalleled value to our customers,” said Hasan.

To further flesh out the Middle East team structure, Hasan has appointed a new sales director to lead the segment across the region, confirmed Raimondi.

“The strategic appointment of Rinju Ravindran to the role of sales director comes in response to the surge in demand for heavy lifting equipment, fuelled by the rapid growth of infrastructure, residential, and mixed-use developments across the region,” commented Hasan.

With a focus on leveraging market opportunities, strengthening client relationships and sourcing new customers, Ravindran will be reporting Wael Hasan in his role as general manager.

Based between Riyadh and Dubai, Ravindran is a seasoned sector professional, armed with extensive experience from the heavy lifting industry. His career counts several sector relevant positions in companies from across the spectrum including manufacturing, fleet management, and more.

“Ravindran’s set of skills, market knowledge, and well-established network in the region will contribute toward achieving Raimondi Group vision of becoming the most responsive leader in heavy lifting solutions,” he concluded.

UAE authorities have approved a US $540mn aid package to support Emiratis who were affected by the recent storms, which were said to be the worst in the country’s history. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai set out the major relief effort, as he chaired a meeting of the UAE Cabinet at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Mohammed said the funds would be used to address damage caused to the homes and property of citizens. He said a committee would be established to assess the damage caused by the adverse weather, which struck the country last Tuesday.

“In the Council of Ministers today, we approved an amount of 2bn dirhams to address the damage to citizens’ homes. A ministerial committee was assigned to follow up on this file, inventory the damage to homes, and disburse compensation in co-operation with the rest of the federal and local authorities,” stated Sheikh Mohammed.

He noted that the extreme weather was “unprecedented in its severity” and lessons would be learned from the deluge. He also noted that emergency services had received more than 200,000 calls related to the heavy flooding.

“Thanks to the follow-up and support of my President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, life returned to normal quickly. His Highness issued his directives to conduct damages assessments, provide support for families, and immediately assess the status of the infrastructure, emphasising that the safety of citizens and residents is the top priority,” commented Sheikh Mohammed.

Earlier in the week, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi called for a quick response from authorities. He also expressed his appreciation for the awareness and responsibility shown by people during the adverse weather, according to a report by WAM.

The President also requested that authorities quickly work on limiting the damage caused after the country witnessed its heaviest rainfall on record, and asked that necessary support be provided to all families affected by the severe weather, ordering that they be moved to safe locations in co-operation with local authorities.

Saudi-PIF owned Roshn Group has launched its sixth integrated community in the Kingdom. Aldanah covers 1.7m sqm and will add more than 2,500 homes to the housing market in the economic hub, Greater Dammam. The project is expected to house 10,000 residents once it has been completed.

Aldanah is strategically located in the heart of Greater Dammam, at the confluence of Dammam, Dhahran, and Al Khobar, next to King Abdulaziz Road and just 20 minutes from King Fahd International Airport.

According to a statement, the project will feature thoughtfully placed amenities that provide residents with the convenience that has become Roshn’s signature, with a city experience centre, a district mall, three neighborhood retail centres, a primary healthcare centre, mosques, and six schools dotted throughout walkable neighbourhoods.

Aldanah’s design language will leverage the rich cultural heritage of the region, creating a daily dialogue between past, present, and future by combining traditional motifs with modern materials and techniques. The range of residences will offer an eclectic choice of homes for every family, with duplexes and villas configured specifically for Roshn’s latest community, the statement added.

In alignment with Roshn’s overarching philosophy and dedication to sustainability and enhancing the quality of life, Aldanah homes will benefit from exemplary energy conservation, with modern insulation as a result of ultra-low U-value concrete, 250l solar water heaters, and maximally efficient air-conditioning that combine to deliver energy saving significantly above the mandated Saudi Building Code, the developer said.

Close to 10% of Aldanah’s total footprint will be dedicated to urban green space, accompanied by shaded ‘Living Streets’, with native trees and shrubs, encouraging residents to connect with nature.

Aldanah will also incorporate cycle lanes and mobility hubs, providing residents with micro-mobility options, including e-bikes and e-scooters, reducing the need for traditional vehicles, the statement concluded.

The implementation phase for the US $3bn railway project between the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE has begun, according to Ahmed Al Musawa Al Hashemi, a top official of Oman Rail and Etihad Rail Company. The joint venture company between Oman Rail and Etihad Rail Company has also been rebranded to Hafeet Rail, and will operate the railway network linking Sohar Port to the UAE National Rail Network.

The rebranding announcement was made on the sidelines of the joint UAE-Oman Business Forum in Abu Dhabi, where three major agreements pertaining to the joint rail project were sealed.

“The UAE-Oman railway project will serve as a catalyst for further cooperation in various economic and industrial sectors, noting its direct impact on passenger movement between the two countries, further boosting tourism and ties between their peoples,” stated Al Hashemi.

Al Hashemi added that several tangible steps have been taken, starting with the signing of the partnership agreement between stakeholders, and the awarding of major contracts for the project to a UAE-Omani alliance comprising companies from both countries operating as one team.

The first is a partnership agreement between Etihad Rail, Oman Rail and Mubadala Investment signalling the project commencement. The second is a set of civil contracts for the joint network, awarded to an Omani-Emirati joint venture led by Trojan Construction Group and Galfar Engineering and Contracting. The third involves the systems and integration contracts for the railway network, awarded to a partnership between Siemens and HAC, said a report.

On the new identity, Al Hashemi said the name pays tribute to the Jabal Hafeet region which extends between Oman and the UAE.

The railway line in this project extends from the existing network in the UAE, specifically from the Al Wathba area to the city and the port of Sohar, passing through diverse geographical areas from desert to mountainous and valley regions, and running alongside Jebel Hafeet, he concluded.
