Palmridge has appointed JLL to deliver comprehensive project management and cost management services on a new residential development in Jumeirah Garden City, Dubai. Palmridge is the design-led real estate development arm of Emirates National Investment (ENI).

According to JLL, its Project & Development Services (PDS) team has been engaged as Project Management Consultant (PMC), acting on behalf of Palmridge, to manage and oversee the full lifecycle of Villea West, the firm’s debut project in the Dubai residential market. Villea West, which has already commenced unit sales, is set to complete in Q4 2027, reflecting Palmridge’s commitment to creating spaces that honor Emirati heritage while embracing contemporary design and modern living.

JLL’s project management and cost management services for the residential development span the entire delivery process, from initial project planning and contract administration, through design management and procurement support, to construction monitoring, coordination and health and safety oversight, culminating in project handover, the consultancy said.

According to a statement from JLL, Villea West is an 11-storey development that will comprise 229 fully furnished studio and 1-bedroom apartments. Designed by Woods Bagot, the development is conceived around a curated suite of lifestyle and wellness amenities, supporting comfort, productivity, and relaxation within an urban setting.

The architecture blends traditional motifs with contemporary form, drawing inspiration from bougainvillea, desert textures, and the area’s deep-rooted heritage. Amenities include a rooftop infinity pool, cinema and gaming room, gym and yoga studio, cold plunges, sauna, water garden, BBQ facilities, podcast studio, and a dedicated work hub, the statement concluded.

H&H has announced the official launch of City Tower, a 93-story mixed-use development on Sheikh Zayed Road, marking its full completion and readiness for long-term leasing from June 2026.

Crafted by Tihany Design, the shared spaces are designed to support genuine interaction, H&H outlined. Arabian Construction Company (ACC) has announced that work is underway on 500 luxury villas being developed by Eagle Hills as part of the Ramhan Island development, situated off the coast of Abu Dhabi.

Covering over 4m sqm, Ramhan Island is designed as a premier waterfront destination, integrating luxury residences, hospitality, retail, leisure and marinas within a distinctive natural marine environment, said a statement.

ACC’s responsibilities encompass the delivery of high-end villas, including full substructure and superstructure works, architectural finishes, MEP integration, landscaping and supporting infrastructure.

“This project is being executed through a carefully phased construction approach across multiple villa clusters,” said a company spokesman. “The delivery of this project further reinforces ACC’s ongoing role in shaping premium residential communities throughout the UAE,” he added.

“As construction progresses, ACC is proud to contribute to the establishment of Ramhan Island as a new standard in coastal living,” he concluded.

Drake & Scull International (DSI), in a strategic partnership with luxury developer Prestige One Developments, has announced the official commencement of construction on the Majan Project. This milestone marks the full transition from visionary design to active delivery.

Fujairah authorities said that a fire broke ​out at the ⁠Fujairah Oil ​Industry Zone (FOIZ) on the afternoon of 4 May, following a drone ​attack originating ​from Iran.

The Fujairah Media Office also said that civil defence teams ‌were ⁠deployed immediately to contain the blaze.

3-Indian nationals were said to have been injured in the attack. The Fujairah Media Office said the three men sustained moderate injuries and were transferred to a hospital for treatment. Updates would be provided as they become available, it said.

The UAE’s Ministry of Defence also announced on 4 May that its air defence systems engaged 12 ballistic missiles, 3 cruise missiles and 4 UAVs that were launched from Iran. Since the eruption of hostilities between the United States, Israel and Iran, the UAE has intercepted 549 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles and 2,260 UAVs.

Authorities also urged the public to rely on official channels for information and to avoid circulating rumours or unverified reports.

The Boring Company (TBC) has awarded Parsons Corporation a contract to provide professional services in support of the Dubai Loop project. The project is an underground transportation initiative being developed in Dubai, UAE.

According to Parsons, the 9-month contract represents new work and as per the terms of the agreement, the company will act as TBC’s delegated program manager, supporting design-build activities for the project. As part of this agreement, Parsons will provide integrated services, directly supporting TBC with Independent Design Verification, Stakeholder Management, Permitting and NOC Support for the Dubai Loop pilot phase. Parsons will also conduct multidisciplinary reviews of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, safety, and utility designs.

“Parsons has proudly played a central role in developing some of the most important and prestigious critical infrastructure programs across the UAE since our first programs there in the 1980s,” said Pierre Santoni, President, Infrastructure EMEA at Parsons.

He added, “From roads, bridges, and tunnels, to airports, railways, and urban developments, our team has delivered superior quality, integrity and innovation on every single project from day one. Our agreement with TBC reflects the directives of the UAE’s leadership to strengthen strategic partnerships with leading global innovators and accelerate the deployment of advanced technologies to support the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. Parsons will ensure all designs are technically robust, fully compliant with local regulations, and efficiently progressed to support safe, reliable, and integrated mobility across the emirate.”

In partnership with Dubai’s Roads and Transit Authority (RTA), TBC has been tasked with delivering the Dubai Loop, a multi-phased passenger transport tunnel project comprised of multiple tunnels and stations aimed at expanding Dubai’s transport ecosystem and offering an additional mode of transport to residents in, and visitors to, the city, said the statement.

Parsons confirmed it already works extensively with the RTA, having supported the organisation with key transportation infrastructure projects in the emirate since its inception in 2005. These include projects such as the Dubai Metro Red and Green Line, the Dubai Metro Route 2020 expansion, the Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Center, the Infinity Bridge, and more than 100 highway, bridge and tunnel projects across the emirate.

Jim Fitzgerald, Global Vice President of Business Development at The Boring Company commented, ”We are excited to collaborate with Parsons on the Dubai Loop project as we bring next-generation underground transportation solutions to Dubai.”

Across the Middle East, resilience and rapid response planning has become a priority for organisations operating in increasingly complex and uncertain environments.

In response, many leaders have revisited, or rapidly developed, plans, governance structures and frameworks designed to manage disruption and maintain continuity. In doing so, a clear realisation has emerged: having a plan is not the same as having the right plan.

Testing plays a critical role and ensures plans are not only well-designed, but proven under realistic conditions, and highlighting where additional capability may be required.

This enables organisations to prepare in advance, whether by strengthening internal capability or ensuring access to trusted partners who can provide scalable operational support when needed.

Where actions are identified, such as enhancing frontline capability, strengthening training, refining processes or improving coordination, organisations may also require support to implement these changes effectively.
