Roland Luke Shine

As the former Environment Business Group Leader and current Operations Manager for GHD UAE, Roland plays an important role in steering the company’s environmental and operational activities across the region. In his role, he oversees various projects ensuring their successful delivery while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability and operational excellence. Roland’s has extensive experience in marine projects covering habitat protection and restoration in coastal environments of the UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

With more than 18 years of experience, all within the Middle East, Roland has developed expertise in project management, environmental impact assessments, and marine ecology. His leadership has contributed to some of the region’s high-profile, large-scale coastal initiatives.

Roland’s work is characterised by a balanced approach that combines technical depth with practical, forward-thinking solutions. His focus on long-term sustainability and his ability to manage complex operations make him a key figure in advancing GHD’s environmental and operational goals across the UAE.
